You Stood by Ajwa and Helped Her Overcome Heart Disease

Ajwa Noor's Story

Ajwa Noor, a 1-year-old girl from Dera Ismail Khan, had been fighting to survive since the day she was born. From her earliest days, her parents observed that she experienced shortness of breath, tiredness, and poor weight gain. Concerned about her condition, Ajwa’s parents took her to a local hospital for medical evaluation. After conducting detailed examinations and some necessary diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Hypertension (PHT). These serious congenital heart conditions were disrupting the normal flow of blood in her body, putting her life at risk. To ensure her survival, the doctor recommended VSD closure surgery.

However, the cost of this life-saving procedure was far beyond the family’s financial capacity. Ajwa lives in a modest home with her parents and three other family members. Her father works as a daily wage laborer and earns around PKR 25,000 per month. This limited income barely covers their basic needs, making it impossible for them to arrange money for such an expensive surgery. During this time of need, Ajwa’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. After carefully reviewing her medical reports and financial condition, we registered her case.

With the generous support of donors, Ajwa was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore on February 15, 2026. The following day, Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed her VSD closure procedure. The surgery went smoothly, and she was kept under close observation in the ICU for post-operative care. Ajwa was discharged in stable condition on February 20, 2026.
