You Supported Jehanzeb’s Successful Knee Replacement Surgery

Jehanzeb Sultan's Story

Jehanzeb Sultan, a 70-year-old man from Mardan, KPK, was suffering from pain and swelling in his left knee joint. For a long time, he was unable to walk without support. Moreover, standing for a short time was a significant challenge for him. Worried about his condition, he consulted a doctor at a local hospital. After performing an X-ray and some necessary lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Jehanzeb with Osteoarthritis of the left knee joint. To relieve his pain and discomfort, the doctor advised left-sided Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery. However, the cost of the surgery was out of his financial capacity.

Jehanzeb was unemployed due to his old age and worsening health condition. He relies on his son, who is the sole breadwinner of the family. He works as a laborer and makes just PKR 20,000 per month. This income was insignificant to cover their household expenses, including utility bills and educational expenses. Due to their financial constraints, they couldn’t afford Jehanzeb’s surgery. During this moment of desperation, Jehanzeb’s family has reached out to Transparent Hands. After listening to their concerns, we promptly registered his case.

On July 22, 2025, Jehanzeb was admitted to Zia Darman Hospital in Mardan. Dr. Aiman Zia remarkably performed his left-sided Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery on July 23, 2025. The surgery went smoothly, and Jehanzeb was discharged in satisfactory condition on July 26, 2025.
