Muhammad Ilyas's Story

Muhammad Ilyas, a 51-year-old man from Lahore, had been struggling with a condition that gradually began affecting both his daily routine and his ability to work. He frequently felt the urge to urinate and often had to rush to the washroom. Along with this, he experienced a weak urine stream and discomfort while passing urine. Concerned about his health, Muhammad Ilyas visited a hospital for a detailed medical evaluation. After a thorough examination and the necessary diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). To relieve his symptoms and restore normal urinary function, the doctor recommended Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP).
The recommended surgery was beyond the family’s financial means.

Muhammad Ilyas lives in a modest home with his wife and three children. He works as a laborer and earns approximately PKR 30,000 per month. His wife contributes to the household income by working as a seamstress and earns around PKR 5,000 monthly. Their combined income is spent on food, utility bills, children’s expenses, and other household necessities. With no way to manage the cost of the surgery, Muhammad Ilyas contacted Transparent Hands for assistance. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.

On June 5, 2026, Muhammad Ilyas was admitted to the Ahmed Medical Complex in Kasur. His surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Sabeeh Obaid. The surgery relieved the obstruction caused by the enlarged prostate and helped restore normal urinary flow. After receiving post-operative care and medical observation, he was discharged in stable condition on June 7, 2026.
