Zain Abbas's Story

Seven-year-old Zain Abbas from Multan faced a daunting challenge: living with cataracts that severely impaired his vision and made even basic daily tasks difficult. Zain’s family struggled to afford the recommended surgery, as his father’s meager monthly income of just 16,000 PKR could barely cover their essential expenses.

Determined to restore Zain’s sight, the family reached out to the generous team at Transparent Hands. We reviewed Zain’s case and quickly mobilized to provide the necessary support.
In March 2022, Transparent Hands facilitated Zain’s first cataract surgery on his left eye, giving him renewed hope. However, he still required an operation on his right eye to fully regain his vision.

With time running out, Zain’s family appealed to Transparent Hands once more. The organization sprang into action, leveraging its network of donors to raise the funds needed for Zain’s second surgery. On April 23, 2024, Zain was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan, where renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Sadaqat Ali performed the life-changing procedure. The surgery was a resounding success, effectively addressing Zain’s right-eye cataract and restoring his sight.

Overjoyed, Zain’s family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Transparent Hands and the generous donors who made this incredible transformation possible. Zain, now able to see the world clearly, can once again participate in everyday activities and pursue his dreams without the burden of impaired vision.
