Sannan Ali's Story
Three-year-old Sanan Ali, a resident of Bajor Agency, had been enduring breathing difficulties and irregular heartbeat since birth. He was diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Artesia (PA). The doctor advised him to undergo a BT Shunt which was done at the age of 18 months to improve his lung circulation. He was later advised to have a re-do of Open Heart Surgery for the Rastelli Operation to repair the defects. His parents could not afford the procedure so they contacted Transparent Hands for help. With your contributions and the help of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation, we were able to provide him with the treatment he needed. Sannan was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital and got his critical heart surgery done by Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan on 30-01-2022. His postoperative course was complicated by an infection and irregular heart rhythm. Unfortunately, Sannan’s tiny heart could not handle these big procedures and stopped beating. Despite all our best efforts with perfect ICU care, he could not recover and passed away on 20-04-2022. Sannan will be missed.
