Abdul Waris's Story

Abdul Waris, a 3-year-old boy from Lahore, has been suffering from pain due to a lump in his right inguinal region since birth. With time, his lump increased in size and became extremely painful. Concerned about his condition, his parents took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After conducting some lab tests and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed Waris with a right inguinal hernia, a condition where part of the intestine bulges through the abdominal wall in the groin area. To prevent potential complications, the doctor recommended herniotomy- a surgical procedure to remove the hernial sac. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is overwhelming for his family.

The persistent pain and discomfort have limited his ability to play or engage in physical activities. If Abdul Waris doesn’t undergo the surgery soon, his hernia may become strangulated; cutting off the blood supply to the intestine. This may lead to severe pain, vomiting, infection, or even life-threatening bowel damage.

He lives in a two-room rented house with his parents and four siblings. His father is a factory employee and his mother is a seamstress, both working hard to make ends meet. His family’s monthly income is just PKR 25000 per month. This monthly income is insufficient to pay PKR 2000 for house rent, PKR 3000 for utility bills, and the living expenses of five children. Additionally, they are burdened with a staggering loan of PKR 300,000, leaving no room for savings to pay for his surgery. During this time of need, his family contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

Waris’ parents said in despair:

“We just want to see him happy and living a pain-free life. Every time he cries in pain, we feel helpless. We can’t afford the surgery, and we need your help during this time of need.”

Abdul Waris’ family is counting on your kindness. With your donations, he can undergo surgery and get back to being a healthy and active child. Your support can prevent life-threatening complications and give him the chance for a normal childhood.

Donate today and make a life-changing difference for him.

Abdul Waris's Story

Abdul Waris, a 3-year-old boy from Lahore, had been suffering from swelling and discomfort in his right groin. His parents noticed that his condition worsened whenever he cried or played. Concerned, they took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing an ultrasound scan and some lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Abdul Waris with a right inguinal hernia. To prevent further complications, the doctor advised a right inguinal herniotomy. However, his family was unable to bear the surgical expenses.

Abdul Waris lived in a small rented house with his parents and four siblings. His father worked as a factory employee and his mother was a seamstress. They both worked hard to make ends meet but could hardly make PKR 25000 per month. They were extremely worried about their son’s illness but knew they could not afford the cost of the surgery. Their financial constraints left them helpless. After hearing about Transparent Hands, Abdul’s parents reached out for support. Transparent Hands registered Abdul Waris’s case promptly and scheduled his surgery.

On 29th October 2024, Abdul Waris was admitted to the Lahore Care Hospital. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed his right inguinal herniotomy. Abdul Waris remained under observation post-surgery and was provided with the necessary medications and care. He was discharged in stable condition on 31st October 2024. Abdul Waris’s parents were overwhelmed with relief. They shared their gratitude as follows:

“Seeing our son free from pain and able to play like other children is the greatest joy. We had lost all hope, but you gave us the chance to see our child healthy again. Words cannot express how thankful we are.”

Abdul Waris’s surgery significantly improved his quality of life. He is healing and will be able to run, play, and explore without any discomfort. His parents no longer worry about his health and can focus on providing him with a better future. Your generous contributions turned a family’s despair into hope and happiness. They are grateful to you for changing Abdul Waris’s life.
