Abdul Basit 's Story
Abdul Basit was born with a critical congenital heart defect that needs to be fixed with a Coarctation Repair Surgery. If coarctation of the aorta becomes severe, then his heart might not be able to pump enough blood to the other organs, which can cause heart damage along with the failure of other organs. His family cannot afford the surgical expenses due to financial constraints. We request that you donate for Abdul Basit’s Coarctation Repair Surgery and let him live to his fullest.
Eight-year-old Abdul Basit, a resident of Lahore, has been suffering from shortness of breath, cyanosis, and repeated episodes of chest pain. He is also unable to gain weight. His parents noticed his condition when he was six years old. They took him to the local hospital. After running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Severe Coarctation of the Aorta and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH). Coarctation is an abnormal narrowing of the aorta. The doctor advised him to undergo Coarctation Repair surgery. It is a surgical procedure to treat the abnormal narrowing of the aorta.
He lives with his parents and two siblings in a rented house. His father has a private job and earns only PKR 30,000 per month. He hardly manages household expenses with this meager income. He is not financially stable enough to pay for costly cardiac surgery. His father said in despair:
“My life is full of hardships as I cannot arrange money for my son’s surgery. Please give Abdul Basit another chance to live by donating generously.”
After a lot of physical and emotional distress, his family registered his case with Transparent Hands. We have assured them to arrange for his Coarctation Repair Surgery. However, it will not be possible without your help. You can add many years to his life with a small donation. Even a donation as small as $10 can have a significant impact. We urge you to donate for Abdul Basit’s Coarctation Repair Surgery and save his heart. His parents have exhausted all other options and have placed their hopes in your hands. Donate today and save a life.
