Ajwa Aslam's Story

Before you dive into the gory details of Ajwa’s ailment, we want you to know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will help Ajwa lead a normal life. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Ajwa’s ileostomy closure as much as you can.

At the age of two years, Ajwa suffered from intestinal obstruction. After evaluation and an exploratory laparotomy, the doctors diagnosed Ajwa with Perforated Meckel’s diverticulum. It is a congenital anomaly of the small intestine which causes complications like this one. To treat this condition, Ajwa has already undergone an ileostomy.

Now, at the age of four, as the last step of the procedure, the doctor has advised Ajwa to undergo an ileostomy closure in which her bowel continuity will be restored to normal. While an Ileostomy Closure surgery is an integral step in Ajwa’s journey towards recovery, unfortunately, it is not an affordable one. Ajwa’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of an Ileostomy Closure surgery. Her father works as a labourer and hardly earns PKR 24000 per month. They live in a rental house, and all of his monthly income is spent on rent and other household expenses. This leaves him in no position to arrange for Ajwa’s ileostomy closure.

“My daughter is so close to leading a normal life like all the other kids. But, we cannot even afford the last surgery. We have circled back and forth to several local hospitals but could not get the date anywhere. Then a doctor told us about Transparent Hands, and we came here. They are our last hope.” -Ajwa’s father.

After a lot of distress, Ajwa’s parents have registered her case with Transparent Hands. We want to get her healthy and happy as soon as we can. Now, all we need is your help. Therefore, we request you to donate for Ajwa’s Ileostomy Closure as much as you can. Your support will set Ajwa on a path towards a healthy life. Donate now!
