Donate for Ayyan’s Cochlear Implant Surgery
Ayyan Gul 's Story
The cochlear implant procedure will alter the life of sweet little Ayyan. Without the procedure, he would not be able to learn or communicate effectively, and he would not get to enjoy all the benefits of hearing his surroundings. His silence has saddened his loved ones. We implore you to donate for Ayyan’s cochlear implant surgery so that he can function normally.
Four-year-old Ayyan, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, has congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents realized something was wrong when he was a year old because he was not responding to their voices. His parents took him to the nearest hospital for testing. Following a consultation, he was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. The doctor advised him to have cochlear implant surgery. A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve, (which is responsible for hearing). The implant is made up of both external and internal components. The exterior portion is attached behind the ear. It processes the sounds using a microphone before sending them to the implant in the ear.
He lives with his parents and three siblings in a small house. His father is a salesperson and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. He desperately needs assistance because, unfortunately, he cannot afford the cost of the surgery. He said in distress:
“My biggest worry for my son is the fact that I was not able to come up with enough money for his cochlear implant procedure. Please consider making a donation right now.”
Someone told his parents about Transparent Hands and the causes we champion, and they reached out to us for help. Now, all we need from you is a little donation so we can give him a cochlear implant. We request that you donate for Ayyan’s cochlear implant surgery and allow him to live his life to the fullest.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Ayyan Gul 's Story
Ayyan, a four-year-old boy from Dera Ismail Khan, was born with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents became concerned when, at the age of one, he showed no response to their voices. They took him to the nearest hospital, where he was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. The recommended solution was cochlear implant surgery, which could potentially improve his hearing and enhance his quality of life.
Unfortunately, Ayyan's father, who worked as a salesperson, could not afford the cost of the surgery. Desperate for assistance, they reached out to Transparent Hands for financial assistance.
Ayyan was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad, where Dr. Jawad skillfully performed the cochlear implant surgery on 30-08-2023. The internal component of the cochlear implant was successfully fixed, marking a significant milestone in his journey toward hearing restoration. After just one day, he was discharged from the hospital.
Although his hearing was not fully restored yet, Ayyan had made remarkable progress. After a few weeks, he returned to the hospital, where the external component of the cochlear implant was meticulously fixed. This allowed him to experience the world of sound for the first time, opening up a whole new dimension in his life.
Ayyan then sought consultation from professional speech therapists to help him develop his language and communication abilities. Through dedicated speech therapy sessions, he began to appreciate the richness of language and communication. The cochlear implant served as a gateway to the auditory world, enabling him to hear and paving the way for better education, more meaningful relationships, and a more fulfilling life.
With the cochlear implant, Ayyan could actively participate in conversations, making him feel more at home in social gatherings. The financial burden of the life-altering surgery was alleviated, and thanks to the kindness of donors. Ayyan and his family were immensely grateful for the support they received. The impact of this assistance in granting him the gift of hearing will last a lifetime.
