Donate for Kamar’s Contracture Release
Kamar Shahzadi's Story
Before you dive into the gory details of Kamar Shahzadi’s ailment, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will change Kamar’s life for good. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Kamar’s Contracture Release as much as you can.
Kamar Shahzadi is a patient of epilepsy and frequently suffers from seizures and epilepsy attacks. Eight months ago, while Kamar was cooking, she had a seizure and she unconsciously fell onto the stove. As a result, she suffered from severe third-degree burns.
After immediate first aid, Kamar underwent two corrective surgeries. Now, Kamar Shahzadi needs a contracture release procedure, a procedure that lengthens the tendon in question, thereby correcting the deformity. The doctor advised a skin graft (STSG) as well. While there is no doubt on the effectiveness of the aforementioned procedures, there is no denying that they are quite expensive as well.
Unfortunately, the cost of the contracture release surgery is beyond the affordability of Kamar’s husband. He is the sole earner of the family and hardly manages to earn PKR 35,000 per month. With this income, he is hardly able to keep the household running let alone, arrange for his wife’s surgery. He told us:
“Lately, it seems that life has been nothing but a sorry tale. First, my business got shut down because of COVID and rendered me broke and helpless. Now, Kamar’s situation constantly worries me. I am at my wit’s end. I do not know what to do.”
After a lot of distress, Kamar Shahzadi has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to set Kamar’s life on the path of normalcy. But, it won’t be possible without your help. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Kamar’s Contracture Release surgery as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Kamar Shahzadi's Story
A forty years old woman from Gujranwala, Kamar had to go through a tragedy eight months ago. She got unconscious while cooking, fell on the fire and got burnt. She had two surgeries before she came to us. Kamar had developed Popliteal fossa on her right leg and thumb. After further evaluation by our doctor, she was diagnosed with epilepsy (the reason why she went unconscious in the first place). Post the diagnosis at Transparent hands, she was told to get Contracture Release and A split-thickness skin grafting (STSG) of her right wrist. But Kamar had more difficulty working with her hand so she preferred and asked the surgeon to do her wrist surgery first. Hence, she was admitted in Lahore Care Hospital on 03-8-21 where her surgery was performed by Dr. Imran Shahzed. After the successful surgery she was discharged the next day in a stable condition. She is now on her road to recovery.
