Mehmona Yousaf's Story

Before you dive into the gory details of Mehmona’s ailments, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will help Mehmona walk again. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Mehmona’s orthopedic surgery as much as you can.

Two years ago, seventeen years old Mehmona suffered from a traumatic fall in which she sustained fractures on both her legs. Mehmona’s initial treatment was done at a public hospital where her right femur and tibia fractures were fixed through surgery. Unfortunately, Mehmona’s fracture of the right ankle could not heal properly and the implants became immensely painful for her.

Therefore, to treat this condition, the doctor has advised Mehmona to undergo a fusion surgery in which her right ankle and fibula (the small bone from the lower leg) will be fixed. Ankle fusion is a type of surgery to fuse the bones of your ankle into one piece.

This surgery hints at a bright future for Mehmona Yousaf. But, unfortunately, Mehmona’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of this orthopedic surgery. Mehmona’s mother withered here and there in search of a free surgery but she could not get help from anywhere. Her mother is the sole earner of the family. Mehmona’s mother works as a cook in someone’s house and hardly manages to earn PKR 15000 per month. She told us:

“I have slaved away almost my entire life to feed my children. But now, I am at my wit’s end. My epileptic daughter Mehmona needs your help. Please donate for her surgery.”

After a lot of mental and physical exhaustion, Mehmona has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get her back on her feet as soon as we can. Therefore, we request you to please donate Mehmona’s orthopedic surgery as much as you can. Donate now!

Mehmona Yousaf's Story

Memoona, a bright 17-year-old resident of Lahore has been suffering from epilepsy. Two years ago, she fell from the rooftop and fractured her right leg and foot. She went to a public hospital nearby and her fractures were fixed for her right Femur, right Fibula, and Right Talus. She recovered partially but the pain in her leg and ankle persisted. After further evaluation, she was found to have a neglected fracture of her right Talus. She was advised to go for a Pantalar Fusion along with removal of Fibular plate. She was sent to PSRD Orthopedic Hospital, Lahore for this procedure. Her surgery was performed by Dr. Saleem Bashir on 18-09-2021 successfully. K-wires were fixed for her Pantalar Fusion to be removed later on. She was discharged after two days of hospital stay after being seen progressing well in a stable condition. Because of your help, Memoona can now walk again.
