Katherine Tariq's Story
“I have been unable to tend to my family or myself this whole year because I am in constant pain. Even though my doctor tells me that my problem is very common and not life-threatening, when the pain is at its peak, it feels like my stomach is being ripped out and I would die. All I want to do is lie down and take a lot of painkillers and just pray for somebody to get me out of this misery.” – Katherine Tariq
Katherine Tariq, 57 years of age, has been experiencing pain in her right hypochondriac area along with episodes of distention, stretch, and discomfort for the last one and a half years. She visited her local hospital and was diagnosed with cholelithiasis, otherwise known as stones in the gallbladder. Her doctor has advised gallbladder removal surgery (cholecystectomy) for permanent relief but she does not have the means to have the surgery.
Katherine has a son and three daughters. One of her daughters is married and lives separately. The rest of her children live with her and her husband. Katherine’s husband and her son both work as laborers and earn a collective amount of around 13,000 PKR/month to support their family, which hardly covers the monthly household expenses.
Katherine cannot have this operation without the support of your donations. To help free her from constant pain, please send her help by clicking Donate Now.
