Donate to Muhammad Waqas for his Colostomy Closure
Muhammad Waqas's Story
“My child is 5 years old now but he has never enjoyed his childhood like his sister. He was born with a disease that didn’t allow him to go out and play with his friends or even go to school. It hurts me when I see other children making fun of my son due to his disease. It’s painful that my child has to go through this only because of my financial condition.” – Waqas’s father
Muhammad Waqas is a 5 years old boy who is suffering from a congenital defect since birth. He was diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease – a condition that affects the large intestine (colon) and causes problems with passing stool. The condition is present at birth (congenital) as a result of missing nerve cells in the muscles of the baby’s colon.
His first surgery was done right after his birth and a stoma bag was placed on his abdomen. The doctor recommended him another surgery after some time for colostomy reversal and to make the normal passage for stools. Waqas’s parents have contacted the hospital many times but they refused to give any date for surgery unless they arrange money. Waqas’s father works as a laborer and earns around 6,000 PKR a month. This poor family hardly makes both ends meet. They cannot afford the expenses of his surgery.
You’re the only hope Waqas is left with. Donate and let this child live a normal life and start school soon!

Muhammad Waqas's Story
Muhammad Waqas, 4 ½ years old, was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s disease at birth. He had his ileostomy made for intestinal obstruction at the age of 6 months. Later, his affected large intestine was removed by Duhamel pull-through surgery, conducted through Transparent Hands. He was advised another surgery to close his ileostomy. This surgery was done at Akram Medical Complex, on 15-11-19, by Dr Naveed Haider. Waqas stayed for 10 days and recovered well during his hospital stay. He was discharged in good health.
