Mutabar Khan's Story

How can you sleep at night when you have a family of 8 to support and you get retired from your job? 73-year-old Mutabar Khan already had enough worries on his mind when he started feeling uneasiness and chest pain on a daily basis. When he went to the hospital, first a medical specialist examined him and then referred him to a cardiologist.

After conducting an ECHO and ECG, the doctor diagnosed him with ischemic heart disease (IHD) which is a state of recurring chest pain because a part of the heart does not receive sufficient blood. The doctors recommended an angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This news came as a blow since his family was already struggling with financial issues.

His monthly pension is 16,000 PKR only. He could not afford the procedures on his own and on a cousin’s, recommendation visited our office and asked us to help him in his time of need. Through our generous donors’ help, he got his angiography performed in Sardar Memorial Hospital Swabi.

The doctors have now advised a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) open heart surgery. The surgery will improve blood flow and supply of oxygen to the heart. This procedure is also an expensive one and Mutabar is relying on you for the donations.

Mutabar Khan's Story

Mutabar Khan, aged 73, a resident of Serai Sherghar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began experiencing chest pains on a daily basis. Cardiologist’s evaluation led to the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease (IHD). After Angioplasty, the doctors advised him open heart surgery for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). On 30.12.2020, he was admitted to Northwest General Hospital and Research Center where he underwent CABG by Dr. Niaz Ali. Keeping his age in view, Mutabar Khan was kept under observation until the doctors were completely satisfied with his progress. He was discharged from the hospital in a stable and satisfactory condition. After being taken care of at home, he is doing daily tasks independently and is satisfied with the improved quality of his life.
