About one month ago, Naveed Ali, 38-years-of-age experienced severe pain in his chest. He was taken to the hospital in emergency where he was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease and remained admitted for three days. The doctors referred him to a hospital in Peshawar for detailed check-up. There the doctors ran a few tests, and his angiography was done. The test results showed that there was blockage in his major vessels. They advised him to undergo open heart surgery (CABG) to treat the disease.

Naveed Ali requested many local hospitals for free surgery as he cannot afford to pay for such an expensive surgery. The hospitals keep adding his name to the waiting list, but Naveed cannot wait for such a long period of time.

His health is deteriorating with each passing day. He experiences severe pain, weakness and difficulty in breathing due to which he is not able to walk or even perform his day-to-day activities. Naveed used to work as a building painter earning only PKR 12,000 a month. But for last few months, he has been suffering from severe chest pain due to which he is unable to work. Naveed Ali's Story

Naveed Ali, 38 years old, suffered from chest pain and was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease and triple vessel coronary artery disease (TVCAD) after his angiography was conducted. The doctors advised surgical intervention to improve the blood flow to his heart. For this purpose, he was admitted in National Hospital & Research Center and his coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery was performed by Dr. Ahmed Shahbaz on 03.12.2020. Naveed stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. He is slowly recovering from his major surgery.
