Amna Bibi's Story

Amna Bibi, a 21-year-old widow from Rawalpindi, is approaching the end of her first pregnancy. Amna lost her husband a few months ago and her heart was filled with concerns when she learned about her pregnancy. She went to a local hospital and underwent some medical checkups, lab tests, and an ultrasound scan. Her reports revealed that her baby has intrauterine growth retardation and a cord around the neck. To avoid potential complications and ensure the safety of both Amna and her child, the doctor strongly recommended a C-section. Unfortunately, the cost of the C-section is out of Amna’s financial reach.

If Amna does not undergo a C-section, her baby may be at a higher risk for cognitive problems such as cerebral palsy and developmental issues like hyperactivity.

At a young age, Amna faced a tragic incident in her life. Initially, her pregnancy filled her heart with excitement. Yet, the tragic death of her husband months ago had brought her into a world of financial instability. She lives in her mother’s rented house and relies upon her brother for living expenses. Amna’s brother, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a private company employee and earns just PKR 40,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, it’s hard to cover the house rent of PKR 16000, utility bills, and the living expenses of six family members. Amna contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. We have registered her case.

Amna expressed her plea as follows:

“I am at a difficult stage of my life. I am about to deliver my baby, but I don’t have enough money to pay for my C-section. My brother works hard but his income covers our basic needs only. I have already lost my husband, and I cannot bear the thought of losing my child. I request you to please help me to bring my child safely into this world.”

Transparent Hands has registered Amna’s case and we need your support to help her deliver her child via C-section. Your contributions can provide Amna with the opportunity to heal and reclaim her life.

Amna Bibi's Story

Amna Bibi, a 21-year-old widow from Rawalpindi, faced a challenging moment during her first pregnancy. Amna lost her husband before learning about her pregnancy, leaving her filled with grief and uncertainty. In spite of the heartbreak, Amna remained hopeful for the future of her child. She consulted a gynecologist and her medical checkups revealed complications.

After undergoing lab tests, an ultrasound scan, and a thorough examination, her doctor found intrauterine growth retardation in the baby and a cord around the neck. To ensure the safety of both mother and child, the doctor advised a C-section. However, the cost of the surgery was too much for Amna to afford.

Shortly after her husband’s death, Amna also lost her father. Amna lived in her late father’s rented house with her mother and siblings. After her father’s death, the family became entirely reliant on her brother, who worked at a private company and earned PKR 40,000 per month. This modest income was stretched thin to cover the house rent, utility bills, and the living expenses of six family members. The tragic loss of two family members left Amna and her family in a difficult financial situation. Desperate for help, Amna reached out to Transparent Hands. Understanding the critical nature of her situation, we registered her case.

On December 07, 2024, Amna was admitted to Maryam Memorial Hospital in Rawalpindi. Under the skilled care of Dr. Farzana, her C-section was successfully performed, ensuring the safe delivery of a healthy baby. After the operation, Amna received necessary post-operative care and was discharged on December 09, 2024.

Overwhelmed with relief and gratitude, Amna shared her thoughts as follows: “I lost so much this year, but your kindness gave me hope and saved my baby’s life. I can never thank you enough for your generosity during my darkest days.”

With the support she received, Amna has found the strength to move forward, filled with hope and gratitude for a new chapter of her life. Amna extends her deepest gratitude to you for supporting her during her time of need.
