Muhammad Shahid's Story

Muhammad Shahid is a poor school teacher who has been suffering from right knee pain for many years. He cannot afford to pay for the surgery he needs. He needs your donations to live a pain-free life. We urge you to give for Shahid’s Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction.

Muhammad Shahid, a 37-year-old resident of Hyderabad, lives with his wife in a village. Seven years ago he had an injury to his right knee, he went to a local clinic for a consultation for right knee pain. He was diagnosed with a ligament injury of his knee joint (ACL). The doctor prescribed medicines for a few days and advised him to go for surgery. He struggles to walk and carry out basic tasks due to his condition. He earns just PKR 15,000 per month as a teacher which is barely enough to make both ends meet. Paying for the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction is out of the question for him. The anterior cruciate ligament is one of the major stabilizing ligaments in the knee. It is a strong rope-like structure located in the center of the knee, which runs from the femur to the tibia. If the ligament tears, it does not heal and often leads to pain and instability in the knee. ACL reconstruction is performed with minimal incisions using an arthroscope to repair the injured ACL.

Shahid told us:

“I am still young and I have my whole life ahead of me. I feel helpless due to my pain and lack of mobility. It is a big hurdle and doesn’t allow me to manage my daily tasks. I need surgery to become active again.”

Now, his case is registered with Transparent Hands and we are determined to help him. So, give for Shahid’s Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction surgery now to help him regain mobility. You can help him with as little as USD 10. Donate today!

Determined to find a way to regain his mobility and lead a pain-free life, he turned to Transparent Hands. With hope in his heart, he reached out to us, and to his immense relief, we successfully rallied the support needed for his surgery.

He was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where his operation was performed by Dr. Khadim Hussain on 27-5-2023. He made remarkable progress in his recovery over the course of three days of postoperative care and observation, and he was ready to take the first steps toward reclaiming his life. With the burden of pain lifted, he felt a renewed sense of freedom and joy. He was grateful for the kindness of those who gave to his cause; he could now walk and stand without the excruciating pain that had limited his daily life.
