Meet Ayesha Bibi, a 5-year-old girl from Dera Ghazi Khan, who has been struggling with breathlessness and palpitations since birth. Even light activities like walking a short distance or playing with her friends leave her gasping for breath. Her fragile health prevents her from enjoying the joys of childhood. Worried for their daughter’s well-being, her parents took her to a local hospital where a thorough medical evaluation was conducted. After running several diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis (SVAS)—a rare congenital heart defect in which the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body is narrowed just above the aortic valve.

To improve her condition and allow her to lead a healthy life, the doctor has recommended Supra Valvular AS Repair, a surgical procedure necessary to relieve the obstruction and restore normal blood flow. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s reach.

Without surgery, Ayesha’s condition may worsen, leading to severe breathing difficulties and potential heart failure. Timely intervention is essential to save her life.

Ayesha lives with her parents and a sibling in a small room at someone else’s house. The family depends on the kindness of others to have a roof over their heads. Her father teaches the Holy Quran to children in the neighborhood and earns a meager income of just PKR 10,000 per month. This limited income barely covers their food and basic needs. With no savings or assets to fall back on, the cost of heart surgery is completely out of their reach.
