Irshad Bashir's Story

Irshad Bashir has been undergoing continuous pain in her abdomen for more than 2 months now. Small stones have originated in her gall bladder and have been growing ever since. Irshad experiences sharp pain while constantly walking or bending. She has also shown symptoms of vomiting and fever at night. After her checkup her doctor suggested that a lithotripsy treatment is the best solution for her to get rid of these stones before they grow any larger or cause any other symptoms.
Poor with a family to feed, Irshad also works like her husband to fill the bellies of their 3 children and survive while living on the margins. Irshad’s husband drives an auto rickshaw all day while Irshad works at homes as a cleaning lady. The amount earned by both husband and wife is barely enough to keep the house running on food and bills. Irshad’s gallbladder stones now make her life tough because she can hardly work while suppressed by all the pain.
