Iqra Usman's Story

Iqra Usman, a 29-year-old woman from Lahore, is over 31 weeks pregnant. Due to her history of two C-sections, she knows the risks. Therefore, she decided to consult a gynecologist at a local hospital. After performing an ultrasound scan and considering her past medical history, her doctor strongly recommended a C-section for this delivery too. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of both Iqra and her baby. However, the cost of the C-section is overwhelming for her family.

If Iqra does not undergo the required C-section, she and her baby may face serious complications. Given her history of two previous C-sections, a normal delivery may cause significant risks including uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, and fetal distress. These complications can put both her life and her baby’s life in danger.

Iqra lives in a modest home with her husband and two children. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, works at a factory and earns just PKR 35,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly manage to pay their utility bills amounting to PKR 2000, and educational expenses of around PKR 10,000 per month. The rest goes towards household needs. There is no room left for savings, and they can’t pay for the surgery. During this challenging time, Iqra reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Iqra expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:

“I just want my baby to come into this world safely. I’ve been through two surgeries before, and I know how risky it can be. But we can’t afford the operation this time. Please help us in this desperate moment.”

Iqra awaits a safe delivery and the chance to hold her newborn in her arms. She dreams of a healthy future for her children and is doing everything in her power to bring her baby into this world safely.

Iqra Usman's Story

Iqra Usman, a 29-year-old woman from Lahore, faced a challenging moment when she was pregnant with her third child. With a medical history that included two previous C-sections, Iqra understood the risks involved in natural childbirth. Determined to ensure a safe delivery, she consulted a gynecologist at a local hospital. After a detailed ultrasound scan and thorough medical assessment, the doctor strongly recommended another C-section for this pregnancy. Given her obstetric history, a surgical delivery was the safest option for both the mother and baby. However, the cost of this C-section was beyond her means.

Iqra lives in a modest home in Lahore with her husband and two children. Her husband works at a factory, earning just PKR 35,000 a month. With utilities, groceries, and school expenses already consuming most of their income, the cost of a C-section was simply beyond their reach. The couple worried constantly, hoping for a solution that could secure a safe C-section for Iqra. During their time of need, the family reached out to Transparent Hands. We responded quickly by registering Iqra’s case and assuring her that she would receive the help she needed.

On April 21, 2025, Iqra was admitted to Akram Medical Complex in Lahore, where Dr. Asia Nasir performed the C-section safely. Iqra delivered a healthy baby boy. The surgery went smoothly, and both the mother and child received post-operative care. They were discharged in stable condition, ready to start a new chapter of life together.

With tears of joy in her eyes, Iqra said:

"This support came as a blessing when we needed it the most. Thank you for being there for us."

Your generosity ensured a safe and joyful birth for her newborn son.

You turned a mother’s fear into hope, and for this, she is extremely grateful to you.
