Shehnaz Bibi awaits Gallbladder Treatment. Before diving into the depths of Shehnaz Bibi’s ailment, Know that she is suffering from immense pain. She needs your help to undergo her sphincterotomy and cholecystectomy. Even a penny can go a long way.

Shehnaz Bibi, aged 65 years, is a resident of Kasur. She was suffering from occasional abdominal pain over the period of four years. After the checkup, doctors gave her symptomatic treatment. It gave her timely relief but her disease was never cured. Two months back, she started feeling feverish and after a while she contracted jaundice. She went to the hospital and after her workup, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis and Choledocholithiasis. Cholelithiasis involves the presence of gallstones which are concretions that form in the biliary tract, usually in the gallbladder. Choledocholithiasis refers to the presence of one or more gallstones in the common bile duct (CBD).

The doctor has now advised her to undergo ERCP + Sphincterotomy to clear the stones from CBD and Open Cholecystectomy to get rid of faulty gallbladder. These surgeries are done for effective complete treatment of this disease.

ERCP, sphincterotomy and cholecystectomy are expensive surgeries that Shehnaz Bibi cannot afford. Her husband is jobless and they are spending the days of their lives on PKR. 10,000 worth of financial support. Affording the expenses of these surgeries are not possible for them:

“I didn’t even know about my disease for the past four years. I was going to the doctor back and forth but the pain never totally ended. My husband sits in the house all day doing nothing. I cannot do anything because of my pain. My house is already running through the support of people. I am hopeful that even my surgery will be possible with the help of you people.”

Shehnaz Bibi's Story

Shehnaz Bibi, a 65-year-old resident of Kasur, was suffering from on and off abdominal pain for the last four years. She went to the doctor for her checkup and the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis and Choledocholithiasis. Her Choledocholiathiasis (CBD stones) was treated by ERCP and then the doctor advised her to undergo Open Cholecystectomy. For this purpose, she was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital, Lahore. Shehnaz’s surgery was performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad on 28-10-2021. She stayed in the hospital for three days and was discharged in a stable condition. Shehnaz has now recovered.
