Rehman Ali is a three-year-old resident of Mehar Dadu, Sindh, who has been grappling with hearing loss since birth. It wasn’t until he turned one that his parents learned about his condition and sought help from the nearest hospital. After going through diagnostic tests, the doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery.

Rehman Ali resides in a modest mud house with his parents and three siblings. His father, a dedicated daily wager, earns a modest income of 20,000 PKR per month. As the sole provider for the family, his father bears the weight of their financial responsibilities. However, the burden of the ongoing financial crisis renders it impossible for them to afford the expenses of Rehman Ali’s crucial surgical intervention.

Living amidst the simplicity of their village home, Rehman Ali’s family faces an uphill battle. Their limited income, coupled with the absence of any additional sources of support, leaves them in a state of despair. The cost of the surgery is beyond the affordability of Rehman Ali’s father leaving him in state of despair and anxiety.
