Restore Tahira’s Vision Through Cataract Surgery
Tahira Bibi's Story
Tahira Bibi, a 30-year-old woman from Multan, has been living with blurred vision in both eyes, making everyday activities increasingly difficult. Her right eye has been affected more severely, causing her to struggle with routine household tasks and limiting her independence. Concerned about her worsening eyesight, she visited a doctor for an evaluation. After the necessary examination, the doctor diagnosed her with bilateral cataract, with the right eye more severely affected. A cataract is a condition in which the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurred vision and reduced eyesight. To improve her vision, the doctor advised right-sided Phaco with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s financial capacity. Tahira’s condition is growing worse with time. If she does not undergo surgery soon, the cataract may lead to complete vision loss in her right eye.
Tahira is a housewife and lives with her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law in their modest home in Multan. Her husband is the only earning member of the family and works as a laborer, earning just PKR 25,000 per month. This modest income is used to meet the family’s daily needs and utility bills of PKR 3,000. Given their financial situation, they can’t afford Tahira’s much-needed eye surgery.
Tahira shared her plea as follows:
“My eyesight has become so weak that even daily tasks have become difficult for me. I dream of seeing clearly again and living without depending on others. My husband is unable to pay for my surgery. Kindly help me.”
This eye surgery can restore not just her eyesight but also her independence. Your kindness can help her undergo her much-needed surgery and give her the opportunity to see the world more clearly once again.
