You Can Improve Amjad’s Eyesight with Cataract Surgery
Amjad Shahzad's Story
Amjad Shahzad, a 44-year-old man from Multan, has been struggling with blurred vision in his right eye. This condition makes it increasingly difficult for him to work and carry out everyday activities. As his eyesight continued to worsen, he found it harder to earn a living and provide for his family. Hoping to regain his vision, he visited a doctor for a medical evaluation. After the necessary examination, the doctor diagnosed him with a right-sided cataract, a condition in which the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy. To restore his eyesight and improve his quality of life, the doctor advised Right Phaco with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond his family’s financial means. Without the recommended surgery, Amjad’s vision may continue to deteriorate, making it increasingly difficult for him to work safely and perform daily tasks. Over time, the cataract can lead to vision loss in the affected eye.
Amjad works as a daily wage laborer and is the sole earning member of his family. He lives with his wife and their six children in their modest home in Multan. His monthly income of PKR 40,000 is used to meet the needs of a family of eight, including educational expenses of PKR 10,000 and utility bills of PKR 1,500. After managing these essential household expenses, the family has no savings left to afford his much-needed eye surgery.
Amjad shared his plea as follows:
“My eyesight is becoming weaker every day, and I worry about how I will continue earning for my family. My children depend on me, but I cannot afford this surgery. I need your support during this challenging time.”
Your generosity can bring hope to his life.
