Malik Ghulam Hussain's Story

Old age hasn’t been kind to 79-year-old Malik Ghulam Hussain, who has been suffering due to a damaged hip. We are determined to help Ghulam Hussain walk again. Ghulam Hussain hails from Multan. For the past eight months, he has been feeling pain and discomfort in his right hip. At first, he chose to ignore it and considered it another hindrance of old age. However, slowly, the pain worsened and Ghulam Hussain had to consult an orthopedic doctor who diagnosed him with Post Traumatic Avascular Necrosis of his right hip bone. AVN is the death of bone tissue secondary to loss of blood supply. Ghulam’s condition has had debilitating effects on his life and restricted his mobility. The only option to treat his ailment is right total hip replacement surgery. In this surgery, the damaged hip joint is replaced. During the process, the surgeon replaces the worn out joint with an artificial joint. 

Unfortunately, Ghulam Hussain is in no position to pay for his surgery. He is retired and financially dependent on his son who works as a laborer and hardly earns PKR 20000 per month. He told us:
