Hammad Hussain's Story

Hammad Hussain, a 9-year-old boy from Muzaffargarh, had faced a silent world since birth. His condition made it impossible for him to hear the voices of his loved ones. Unlike other children of his age, Hammad couldn’t respond when his parents called his name, nor could he enjoy the simple joys of childhood. Desperate to change his fate, his parents consulted a doctor. After some thorough diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) and recommended cochlear implant surgery. In January 2025, Hammad underwent the surgery through Transparent Hands. Hammad can listen now but he can’t recognize sounds, understand words, and develop proper speech. Therefore, his doctor has advised speech therapy. However, his family can’t afford the treatment.

Without this therapy, the surgery’s benefits will be limited, and he will continue to struggle with communication. The inability to undergo therapy may limit his educational progress and social interactions. It will become difficult for him to integrate into the world around him.

Hammad lives in a modest house with his six family members. His father, a police employee, is the sole breadwinner of the family. Despite working hard to support his loved ones, his earnings are just enough to cover basic necessities. The cost of speech therapy sessions is beyond their reach, leaving them anxious about their son’s future. They long to hear their child speak his first words, to watch him grow and thrive, but financial constraints stand in the way of his progress.

Hammad’s family said in despair:

“Our hearts are broken when we see his struggle to communicate. We just want to hear his laughter and words. Please support his life-changing speech therapy sessions.”

Hammad’s future depends on this therapy. With your kindness and generosity, we can ensure that he receives the much-needed speech therapy sessions for one year. Let’s join hands to give Hammad the gift of speech, allowing him to express his thoughts, emotions, and dreams. Every contribution brings him one step closer to a world filled with sounds, laughter, and endless possibilities.

  • You Empowered Deserving Children with Speech Therapy

    19 Mar 2026

For children, saying their first word is one of the most joyful experiences. However, for those born with hearing impairments, even hearing sounds around them is a struggle. These children find it challenging to express their thoughts, emotions, and basic needs, which can lead to frustration, isolation at an early age, and missed development milestones.

Recently, Transparent Hands started providing speech therapy to deserving patients who were unable to speak. These patients had already undergone cochlear implant surgeries through the support of Transparent Hands. While these surgeries enabled them to hear sounds for the first time in their lives, hearing alone does not immediately enable children to understand language and recognize sounds. After cochlear implant surgery, children must learn to recognize and interpret sounds they have never experienced before.

Therefore, their doctors recommended speech therapy. However, these patients belonged to low-income families and couldn’t afford speech therapy sessions. Due to their financial hardships, they reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Your support made it possible for Transparent Hands to provide speech therapy sessions to these children at the Society for Audiological & Developmental Ailments (SADA) Foundation in Lahore.

Speech therapists worked closely with them through structured exercises and interactive learning sessions. These sessions are helping the children gradually recognize sounds, pronounce words, and communicate with confidence. Some children have already started recognizing familiar voices and responding to simple words. They are still receiving therapy sessions, which improve their communication and quality of life. Here are the details of the children who have received speech therapy through your generous support so far:
