Umair Jamal's Story

Umair Jamal, a 41-year-old man from Hyderabad, has been suffering from pain and discomfort in the upper right side of his abdomen for the past four months. The pain is often followed by indigestion after fatty meals, which has made his daily life uncomfortable and difficult to manage. He visited a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After undergoing a series of investigations, he was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis. It is a condition characterized by the formation of hard deposits in the gallbladder. To relieve his pain, the doctor advised him to undergo a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, he is unable to afford the surgery. If left untreated, Umair’s condition may continue to worsen over time. He may develop severe complications such as gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even organ damage.

Umair Jamal is currently unemployed and living with his parents, two brothers, and one sister. The household expenses are managed through his father’s pension, which is around PKR 60,000 per month. With this income, they can barely cover the household expenses such as utility bills amounting to PKR 5,000 and groceries. Adding to their hardships is a significant loan of PKR 150,000. Facing financial difficulties, the family is unable to afford Umair’s surgery. During this time of need, Umair reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Umair said in despair:

“I have been suffering due to gallstones for four months. I cannot even eat without facing health issues. The cost of this surgery is far beyond our reach. I just want to get rid of this illness and live a normal life again. Kindly help me receive this treatment.”

Umair Jamal is counting on your kindness. You can turn his pain into relief and discomfort into ease.
