Muhammad Ibrahim Ghazali's Story

Muhammad Ibrahim Ghazali, aged 53, a resident of Mansehra needs to undergo ileostomy reversal. for the past few months he was suffering from lower abdominal pain. He experienced immense pain and was taken to the hospital where he was scheduled for surgery on urgent basis. Little did he know that his health condition would further deteriorate after reaching the hospital. The doctors performed an emergency appendectomy and had to perform an ileostomy on him as well due to ileal perforation. He has now recovered and is awaiting ileostomy reversal. Unfortunately, due to the financial crisis he can not afford this surgery. He shares his tale in the following words:

“For the past sometime, life has tested me with all it’s might. I still remember that day. I thought I would not make it. But God had other plans and I am still here.  My first operation was performed in a government hospital. Later when I had to undergo an ileostomy reversal, I realised I couldn’t afford it. I was a bus conductor and my  monthly income is around PKR. 15,000 per month. I live in my own house, I am looking after two families, my own and my sister’s.  So that makes the nine of us living under one roof.
