Abdul Waheed's Story

Abdul Waheed, a 39-year-old resident of Lahore, found himself in a dire medical situation when he began experiencing persistent blood and pus discharge from his perianal region for the past year. So, the doctor advised him to undergo fistula surgery. His first surgery, with the support of Transparent Hands, was performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad on February 15, 2024. The procedure excised the fistula and placed a Seton. After allowing the closure of the wound and proper healing. Abdul Waheed’s doctor recommended another surgical intervention in the form of seton replacement. This procedure would address the underlying issue and provide the necessary treatment.

Due to the financial crisis, Abdul Waheed once again turned to Transparent Hands for financial support. With the support of generous donors, we stepped in to provide the financial resources Abdul Waheed needed to undergo the necessary surgeries.

On April 20, 2024, Abdul Waheed was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital, where Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed the second phase of the procedure—a seton replacement. After a successful one-day recovery, Waheed was discharged and called for a final surgery on April 26, 2024, for seton removal and wound curettage. Once again, his post-operative stay was brief, with him being discharged from the hospital the very next day.

Through the generosity of dedicated donors, Abdul Waheed was able to access the critical medical care he required, alleviating his condition and restoring his health. This remarkable act of compassion has transformed Abdul Waheed’s life, allowing him to return to his role as the primary provider for his family, free from the burden of his debilitating medical issue.
