Sabana Batool has had a successful TOF Repair
Sabana Batool's Story
Sabana Batool, aged 11 years, a resident of Tormak was suffering from cyanosis and breathlessness on mild exertion since birth. Upon cardiac assessment, she was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). She was advised by her cardiologist to undergo open-heart surgery for total correction.
For this purpose, she was admitted to The University Of Lahore Teaching Hospital Lahore, where Dr. Salman Ahmad Shah performed open-heart surgery for total correction of TOF on 01.03.2021. After five days of hospital stay Sabana was discharged in a satisfactory condition. The surgery was conducted with the support of the Pakistan Children Heart foundation and other donors. A child who has had surgical repair of TOF requires lifelong care and examinations by a cardiologist along with medication and an optimized lifestyle. Luckily now Sabana is beyond the initial stage of treatment and is looking forward to a healthy life.
