Manahil Naz, a 13-year-old resident of Matiari, Sindh, has been suffering from recurrent sore throat and on and off high grade fever for the last three years. Upon consultation, she was treated symptomatically, but it didn’t bring her long-term relief. After suffering for more than two years, she went to an ENT specialist. The doctor ran a few tests and diagnosed Manahil with Chronic Tonsils. After the diagnosis, she was advised to undergo Tonsillectomy. Tonsillectomy is a surgical technique that involves the removal of both palatine tonsils from the back of the throat. Recurrent tonsillitis, throat infections, and obstructive sleep apnea are the most common reasons for the surgery.

Unfortunately, Manahil is unable to afford the cost of this surgery. She is a student and her father earns just PKR 15,000 per month. Some days he struggles to put food on the table. With a family of six to support and the bills to pay, it is extremely difficult for him to pay for his daughter’s treatment.

Manail, a 13-year-old resident of Matiari, had been suffering from repeated episodes of sore throat for the last three years. Upon consultation, she was diagnosed with Chronic Tonsillitis. The doctor advised Tonsillectomy. She was admitted to Isra Hospital, Hyderabad, where her operation was performed by Dr. Amrat Kumar on 30-07-2022. She was discharged after one day of stay in the hospital. Her breathing and sleep-related disorders have been resolved after the successful surgery.
