Muhammad Owais Awaits Tonsillectomy
Muhammad Owais's Story
Muhammad Owais, a 21-year-old man from Karachi, is facing throat pain and repeated bouts of fever, which have significantly reduced his quality of life. Activities like speaking and swallowing have become difficult for him, and he finds it hard to sleep at night. Concerned about his condition, he went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor who conducted a series of tests and diagnosed Owais with Chronic Tonsillitis. It is a condition characterized by the inflammation of the tonsils. To relieve his pain and potential complications, the doctor has recommended tonsillectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for his family.
Owais is a student who faces great difficulty in staying focused on his studies. If left untreated, Owais’s illness can deteriorate further. It may lead to complications like tonsillar enlargement and the spread of infection to other organs.
Owais lives in a modest rented home with his parents and two siblings who are studying. His father, the sole provider for the family, works at a private organization and brings in just PKR 35,000 per month. From this modest income, PKR 10,000 goes towards utility bills, another PKR 10,000 for house rent, and PKR 2500 for children’s school fees. After covering all essentials, they are left with no savings to pay for Owais’s surgery. During their search for hope, Owais’s family found Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Owais’s father said in despair:
“Owais’s condition is worsening with time, and I can’t see him spending each day with a chronic illness. It’s hard to find words for the struggle he is facing. I feel helpless as I can’t afford to pay for his surgery. Your support can help him overcome this challenge and live without constant suffering.”
Owais dreams of a future free from pain, where he can live fully once again. Together, we can help him make that dream a reality, bringing back the health and happiness he longs for. Come forward and donate to make a life-changing difference.

Muhammad Owais's Story
Muhammad Owais, a 21-year-old man from Karachi, had been experiencing throat pain and recurrent episodes of fever that were disrupting every aspect of his life. Speaking and swallowing had become painful, and even resting at night was difficult due to discomfort and breathing issues. His studies were affected as he struggled to concentrate in class or attend lectures regularly. Concerned about his declining health, Owais visited a local hospital, where a doctor carried out a series of diagnostic tests. He was diagnosed with Chronic Tonsillitis. The doctor recommended a tonsillectomy to remove the affected tonsils and prevent further health deterioration.
However, the cost of the procedure was far beyond his family’s reach. Owais lives with his parents and two siblings in a modest rented home. His father is the sole earner, working at a private organization for a monthly salary of PKR 35,000. This income is used to cover rent, utility bills, groceries, and the educational expenses of all three children. With rising living costs and no savings to fall back on, paying for the surgery was simply not possible. During this time of need, Owais’s family contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.
On June 13, 2025, he was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where Dr. Paras Naseem successfully performed the tonsillectomy. The surgery went smoothly, and Owais received attentive post-operative care before being discharged in good health on June 14, 2025.
Sharing his feelings after recovery, Owais said:
“Living with constant throat pain made every day a struggle. With your help, I received the surgery. I can now eat, speak, and sleep without discomfort, and I feel ready to focus on my studies again. You have greatly improved my life, and I am grateful for this favor.”
Today, Owais is free from the pain and recurrent fevers that once held him back. He can lead a healthy life with new hope and courage.
His family is deeply thankful for your generosity, which brought him comfort.
