Najma Bibi's Story

Najma Bibi, a 26-year-old woman from Multan, is expecting her third child and is currently 33 weeks pregnant. During her recent antenatal examination, the doctor reviewed her medical history and advised a C-section for the safe birth of her baby. Since she has undergone two previous C-sections, another surgical delivery is considered the safest option for both the mother and child. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond her family’s financial means. Without the recommended C-section, Najma and her unborn baby may face serious complications during childbirth. Women with a history of previous C-sections are at increased risk of uterine rupture, severe bleeding, infection, and complications during labor.

Najma is a housewife and the mother of two young children. Her husband works as a laborer and is the sole earning member of the family, bringing home only PKR 35,000 per month. This modest income is used to cover all household expenses, including monthly utility bills of PKR 4,000. Although the family lives in a modest home, they are unable to save enough to afford the cost of Najma’s C-section.

Najma shared her heartfelt plea as follows:

“As the due date gets closer, my only wish is to safely hold my baby in my arms. My heart is full of worries. Kindly help me undergo a safe C-section.”
