Bibi Zahra Needs Your Support to Undergo a Life-Saving Heart Surgery
Bibi Zahra's Story
Bibi Zahra, a 5-year-old girl from Peshawar, has been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. This condition limits her ability to perform even routine activities like walking or playing with other children. Concerned about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Pulmonary Atresia (PA) and an interventricular septal defect, a serious congenital heart condition in which normal blood flow between the heart chambers is disrupted. She initially received a PDA stent placement. Later, a Right BT shunt procedure was performed to further improve blood flow and support her heart function. Now, the doctor has advised open-heart surgery for CP shunt- for long-term treatment and better cardiac circulation. Without this surgery, her condition will continue to deteriorate, putting her life at risk. The doctor warned that delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.
Bibi Zahra lives in a rented home in Peshawar with her parents and siblings. Her father works as a delivery rider and earns around PKR 17,000 per month. A portion of this limited income is used for house rent of PKR 5,000, utility bills of PKR 3,500, and educational expenses of PKR 1,500 for the children. After covering these essential needs, very little remains for other expenses, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of her complex heart surgery.
With deep concern, her father said:
“My daughter gets tired very quickly and struggles to breathe properly. It hurts me to see her like this at such a young age. My income is not enough for her treatment. I just want her to live a healthy life and grow like other children. Kindly save her.”
A successful operation can give her the chance to grow with a stronger heart, and a childhood free from constant physical limitations. Your support can be a source of hope for her.
By standing with her today, you can help a little heart keep beating with strength for years to come.
