Change Lakha Dino’s Life Through Hernioplasty
Lakha Dino's Story
Lakha Dino, a 52-year-old man from Hyderabad, has been experiencing swelling in the right groin region for almost four years. With time, this swelling has increased in size and become painful. Activities like sitting and bending have become challenging for him. This illness also affects his ability to work as a laborer. Concerned about his condition, he went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing necessary tests and examinations, the doctor diagnosed Lakha Dino with a right-sided Inguinal Hernia. It occurs when a part of the intestine protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. To relieve his pain, the doctor has recommended Mesh Hernioplasty. If Lakha Dino does not undergo the surgery, his condition may result in serious complications. There is a risk of severe blockage or infection in the gallbladder, which may lead to intense pain and life-threatening damage to nearby organs.
Lakha Dino works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 12,000 per month. He lives in a small mud house along with his wife and nine children. The family is surviving in extreme poverty. Most of the income is spent on their utility bills and the living expenses of eight family members. Given their financial situation, they can’t afford Lakha Dino’s life-changing surgery. During this time of need, Lakha Dino reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Lakha Dino expressed his heartfelt plea as follows:
“I have been living with this painful condition for four years, and it has made daily life and work very difficult. I earn barely enough to support my children. Kindly help me undergo this operation.”
