Sidra Waqas's Story

Sidra Waqas, a 24-year-old woman from Multan, is going through one of the most difficult times of her life. She is 30 weeks pregnant and anxiously waiting to welcome her second child into the world. But this pregnancy has become extremely stressful for her family because of serious medical concerns. Sidra previously delivered her first baby through a C-section, and after recent medical examinations, doctors have once again advised a C-section to ensure the safe delivery of her baby. The doctors warned that attempting a normal delivery could put both Sidra and her unborn baby at risk. Complications such as severe bleeding, uterine rupture, fetal distress, and life-threatening emergencies may occur without a timely C-section. For Sidra, every passing day is filled with fear and uncertainty as her delivery date approaches.

Sadly, Sidra’s family is already struggling to survive financially. She lives in a small rented house in a rural area of Multan with her husband and young child. Her husband works as a school teacher and earns only PKR 30,000 per month, which is barely enough to cover their daily needs. Out of this income, PKR 12,000 goes toward house rent, while additional expenses such as utility bills and household necessities leave the family with almost nothing in savings. Sidra is a housewife and fully dependent on her husband’s modest income. The cost of her much-needed C-section is completely beyond their reach. With their financial hardships, the couple feels helpless and worried about the safety of both the mother and child.

While speaking about her situation, Sidra said with tearful eyes:

“I constantly worry about my baby’s safe delivery. The doctors have advised a C-section, but we cannot afford it. My husband is trying his best, but our income is not enough to cover the surgical and medical costs. I just pray that my baby is born safely. Please help me in this difficult time.”
