Iqra Noor's Story

Iqra Noor, a 3-year-old girl from Lower Dir, KPK, has spent her early years struggling with every breath. Unlike other children of her age, who run around laughing and playing, Iqra becomes breathless with even mild physical activity. A few steps leave her exhausted, and her fingers and lips often turn a worrying shade of blue. Recently, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After undergoing detailed diagnostic tests, Iqra was diagnosed with a complex set of congenital heart defects, including Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), Complete Atrioventricular Canal (CAVC), Pulmonary Stenosis (PS), and Bilateral Superior Vena Cava. The doctor advised her to undergo a Bilateral CP Shunt through Open-Heart Surgery. However, her family can’t afford to pay for her surgery.

This procedure is critical for improving her heart’s function. Without surgery, her condition will continue to worsen, making her more vulnerable to heart failure and severe complications.

Iqra lives in a modest home with ten family members. Her father is an Imam and a teacher at a local madrassah. He works hard but earns a modest income of PKR 45,000 per month. Despite his dedication, his earnings are barely enough to meet the daily needs of his wife as well as four children. He hardly manages to cover utility bills, food, and other living expenses. Due to their financial constraints, they simply can’t afford to pay for Iqra’s life-saving heart surgery.

With a heavy heart, Iqra’s father shared his plea as follows:

“My daughter is only three years old, and she is struggling to survive. Every day, I pray for her health, knowing I cannot afford her much-needed surgery. I am reaching out for your help with the hope that you can save Iqra.”

Iqra deserves to grow up, to breathe freely, and to experience the joys of childhood. Donate and save Iqra’s life. Your generosity can bring hope and healing to a family desperately praying for a miracle.

Iqra Noor's Story

Iqra Noor, a 3-year-old girl from Lower Dir, KPK, had been battling with severe health challenges since the start of her life. Unlike other children of her age, who spend their days playing and running freely, Iqra struggled with every breath. Even the smallest physical activity left her exhausted, and her lips and fingertips often turned blue due to a lack of oxygen. Deeply concerned about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital. After a comprehensive evaluation, she was diagnosed with a complex combination of congenital heart defects: Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), Complete Atrioventricular Canal (CAVC), Pulmonary Stenosis (PS), and Bilateral Superior Vena Cava. To save her life and relieve her symptoms, the doctor recommended a Bilateral CP Shunt through open-heart surgery. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for her family.

Iqra lived in a modest home with his joint family of nine members. Her father, an Imam and teacher at a local madrassah, works hard to provide for the family but earns only PKR 45,000 per month. With so many dependents and limited income, arranging money for such a major cardiac surgery was far beyond their capacity. Desperate for help, the family reached out to Transparent Hands. After verifying her medical and financial information, we registered her case.

On June 16, 2025, Iqra was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Asim Khan performed the Bilateral CP Shunt procedure through open-heart surgery on June 17, 2025. The operation was carried out with utmost care. After receiving post-operative management in the intensive care unit, she was discharged in stable condition on June 21, 2025.

With tears of relief, her father said: “We were living in fear for our daughter’s life. Thanks to your generosity, she has been given a chance to breathe and live like other children. We are forever grateful for your kindness that saved Iqra’s life.”

Iqra is now recovering well, with her breathing improved and her energy levels gradually increasing. Her family is deeply thankful to you and the Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation.

Your generosity gave their daughter a chance to live a life filled with possibilities.
