Zahra Anwar's Story

Zahra Anwer, a 59-year-old woman from Karachi, has been suffering from pain due to a lump in her left breast for seven months. What began as mild discomfort gradually turned into severe pain and fatigue, making it difficult for her to carry out even the simplest daily tasks. The disease has affected her physical and emotional well-being, leaving her in constant distress. Zahra went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing medical examinations, her doctor confirmed that she had cancer in her left breast and recommended Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) to prevent further complications. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond her means, leaving her with an uncertain future.

If her condition is left untreated, the cancer may spread to other parts of the body. It will lead to unbearable pain and severe health complications that will put her life at risk. Her energy is already diminishing, and the fear of what lies ahead scares her every moment.

Zahra lives in a small rented house with her husband and their only son. Her husband, a laborer, earns a modest income of PKR 35,000 per month, which barely covers their household expenses. Their son, who is currently unemployed, is struggling to find work to support the family. Due to their financial constraints, Zahra’s family is unable to provide her with the necessary surgery. They watch helplessly as she suffers, longing to ease her pain. During this time of need, Zahra contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.

In her heartfelt appeal, Zahra shared:

“I never imagined facing such a life-threatening disease. Every day, I wake up hoping for relief, but the pain only becomes more unbearable. I long for a chance to recover, to be there for my family, and to live without constant fear. I humbly ask for your kindness and support to help me through this difficult time.”

Your generosity can give Zahra the chance to fight back and reclaim her life. With your help, she can undergo the life-saving surgery. Extend your support today and bring hope to Zahra and her family.

Zahra Anwar's Story

For seven months, Zahra Anwer, a 59-year-old woman from Karachi, had been suffering from persistent pain and fatigue due to a growing lump in her left breast. At first, it was just a mild discomfort, but it steadily worsened until it began interfering with her ability to complete even the most basic daily tasks. Zahra’s physical strength began to fade and she was weighed down by fear and anxiety. Zahra visited a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed clinical evaluation and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with bilateral breast cancer. The recommended course of action was a bilateral Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) to remove the cancer and avoid further complications.

However, the cost of the surgery presented a major obstacle. Zahra lives in a modest rented home with her husband and their only son. Her husband earns PKR 35,000 per month as a laborer, a sum that barely covers their monthly expenses. Their son, currently unemployed, is actively looking for work but has yet to find a job. They are unable to afford the costly treatment. During this time of uncertainty, Zahra turned to Transparent Hands for assistance. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.

On March 4, 2025, Zahra was admitted to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital, Karachi. Dr. Shafiq-ul-Reman skillfully performed her surgery. After a smooth procedure and careful monitoring, she was discharged in stable condition on March 7, 2025.

With tears of gratitude in her eyes, Zahra said: "Your support came when we had no one else to turn to. This surgery has given me a new lease on life. I am deeply thankful to you for extending your support when I needed it the most. I will forever be grateful.”

Zahra is now recovering and regaining strength day by day. Your support enabled her to embrace life with new hope and relief.

She and her family extend their deepest gratitude to you for helping Zahra and changing her life.
