Rubab Aslam's Story

Rubab Aslam, a 15-year-old girl from Multan, has been living with blurred vision in her right eye. Due to this condition, she faces difficulty recognizing objects clearly and carrying out her daily activities with confidence. Concerned about her eyesight, her family took her to the hospital for a detailed evaluation. After examining her condition, the doctor diagnosed her with a right-sided congenital cataract. A congenital cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens since birth and can significantly affect vision if left untreated. To treat this issue, the doctor has recommended right-sided lens matter aspiration (LMA) with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s financial means. Rubab’s condition is growing worse with time. If she does not undergo surgery soon, the cataract may lead to complete vision loss in her right eye.

Rubab belongs to a large family of ten. Her father and brother work as laborers. Together, they earn only PKR 25,000 per month to support the entire household. The family lives in a modest home and struggles to meet necessities. Given their financial situation, they can’t afford Rubab’s much-needed eye surgery. During this time of difficulty, Rubab’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Rubab’s parents said in despair:

“As parents, all we want is to see our daughter grow up with good health and a bright future. Seeing her struggle with poor vision is deeply painful for us. Our modest income is not enough to afford her surgery. Kindly help Rubab during this time of need.”

Rubab is relying on your generosity. You can give Rubab the opportunity to see the world clearly.
