You Built a Legacy of Compassion by Supporting Nazia’s Thyroidectomy
Nazia Ramzan's Story
Nazia Ramzan, a 33-year-old woman from Lahore, had been living with a noticeable swelling in the front of her neck for several years. Over time, the swelling gradually increased in size and began to cause discomfort in her daily life. In recent months, she started facing difficulty in swallowing food and breathing, which made even routine activities feel exhausting and uneasy. Concerned about her condition, Nazia visited a local hospital where she was evaluated by a doctor. After a detailed clinical examination and relevant investigations, she was diagnosed with Multinodular Goiter. This condition occurs when multiple nodules form in the thyroid gland, leading to visible enlargement of the neck and pressure on surrounding structures. To prevent further complications and improve her quality of life, the doctor recommended a subtotal thyroidectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond her financial capacity.
Nazia currently lives in her brother’s house and her husband is unemployed. She works as a housemaid and earns approximately PKR 15,000 per month, which is only enough to manage basic daily expenses. In such circumstances, arranging money for her treatment was not possible for the family. During this difficult period, Nazia contacted Transparent Hands and requested assistance. Moved by her situation, we registered her case.
On May 12, 2026, Nazia was admitted to the Evercare Hospital, Lahore. The surgery was performed on the same day by Dr. Ahmed Fawad, who successfully carried out the subtotal thyroidectomy. The procedure was completed without any complications. Nazia remained under observation following the surgery and was discharged in stable condition on May 13, 2026.
Nazia shared her feelings as follows:
“For a long time, I lived with discomfort and worry because of this swelling. After the surgery, I feel much better and am able to breathe more comfortably. I am thankful to you for your generous support.”
Today, Nazia Ramzan is gradually returning to her normal routine. The improvement in her condition has brought her great relief, and her family is happy to see her healthier.
They extend their heartfelt gratitude to you, as you became a source of hope and healing for them.
