Naseem Bibi's Story

Naseem Bibi, a 61-year-old woman from Jhang, Punjab, was struggling with abdominal discomfort. For many months, she experienced recurring pain in the upper right side of her abdomen, especially after meals. The discomfort was often accompanied by nausea and indigestion. Over time, the condition began affecting her well-being and peace of mind. Concerned about her worsening symptoms, Naseem Bibi visited a local hospital where she was evaluated by a doctor. After a detailed clinical assessment and some necessary diagnostic tests, she was diagnosed with symptomatic gallstones. The condition occurs when hardened deposits form inside the gallbladder, leading to pain, digestive issues, and recurring discomfort. To provide lasting relief, the doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

However, the cost of the surgery was beyond the family’s financial reach. Naseem Bibi lives with her husband and depends on her son, who works as a laborer and earns approximately PKR 35,000 per month. This modest income is used to manage household expenses and they were unable to pay for the surgery due to financial constraints. During this time of need, Naseem Bibi contacted Transparent Hands. On May 22, 2026, Naseem Bibi was admitted to the Evercare Hospital, Lahore. However, due to her uncontrolled asthma, she was treated for this first and discharged from the hospital. She was readmitted on May 30, 2026. The surgery was performed on the same day by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. Naseem Bibi remained under observation after the procedure and was discharged in stable condition on May 31, 2026.

Naseem Bibi shared her feelings as follows:

I felt weak and worried about my health, but after the surgery, I feel completely relieved. I can now eat without fear of pain and live more peacefully.
