Saba Azam's Story

Saba Azam, a 24-year-old woman from Lahore, is pregnant with her third child. She has previously delivered two children via C-section. Therefore, her heart was filled with concerns. On a follow-up visit with her gynecologist, she was told that she must undergo another C-section to ensure a safe delivery. Due to her medical history, attempting a normal delivery may put both her and the baby at serious risk, including uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, and complications that can threaten the baby’s life. A timely C-section is essential to save both lives. However, the cost of the C-section is overwhelming for her family.

Saba lives in a modest home with her husband and two children. Her husband works as a laborer and earns approximately PKR 30,000 per month. The family’s limited income is used to meet basic household expenses, leaving no room to cover the cost of the C-section. Due to their financial constraints, arranging the money for this life-saving procedure is not possible. Saba faces increasing worries and stress as her pregnancy progresses. With hope in her heart, she reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Saba expressed her concerns as follows:

“I am expecting my third child, and my previous C-sections make this pregnancy very risky. I worry constantly about the safety of my baby. We do not have the means to cover the cost of the C-section. I just want to hold my baby safely in my arms. Please help me deliver my baby safely through a C-section.”
