You Secured Haseeb’s Future with Cataract Surgery
Muhammad Haseeb's Story
Muhammad Haseeb, a 6-year-old boy from Kot Addu, Punjab, had been facing difficulties with his vision since early childhood. His parents often noticed him rubbing his left eye and complaining about discomfort. As he grew older, the problem became more noticeable. Recognizing objects and participating in everyday activities became increasingly challenging for him. His parents took Haseeb to a hospital for a detailed eye examination. After conducting the necessary tests, the doctor diagnosed him with a cataract in his left eye. To restore his eyesight and prevent further deterioration, the doctor recommended LMA with Intraocular Lens implantation for his left eye.
Haseeb’s family was already struggling to make ends meet. His father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 20,000 per month, which barely covers the household’s basic expenses. As the sole earning member, he supports a family of nine, including Haseeb and his six siblings. With such limited income, affording eye surgery was impossible for the family. Watching their son’s vision worsen while being unable to afford treatment was heartbreaking for the family. Hoping for support, Haseeb’s parents contacted Transparent Hands and shared their concerns. Understanding their financial hardships and medical needs, we registered Haseeb’s case.
On April 24, 2026, Haseeb was admitted to the Bakhtawar Amin Hospital in Multan. His cataract surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Syed Hassan Raza. During the procedure, the cloudy lens was removed and replaced with a Prosert AQ intraocular lens to improve his vision. Following post-operative care and observation, Haseeb was discharged in stable condition on April 25, 2026.
Seeing the improvement in their son’s eyesight brought immense relief to the family. Haseeb’s father shared:
“As parents, it was painful to see our son struggle with something as important as his vision. After the surgery, we are hopeful that he will be able to learn and play like other children. We are truly thankful for the support we received.”
Haseeb can now look forward to a brighter future with clearer vision and greater confidence. His family is deeply grateful to you.
You gave their son the opportunity to experience childhood without the limitations caused by poor eyesight.
